The Cape Fear Warriors compete in the Carolina Hockey League (CHL). This program is designed to teach and emphasize dedication, teamwork, and accountability.

Players will develop hockey skills on and off the ice, requiring academic progress report check ins, community service, and in-season evaluations. Our goal is for players to learn how to be better than the day before, to work as a team, and learn to be held accountable.

By stressing skill sets that hold players accountable to coaches, teammates, and themselves, we aim to build strong foundations for not only great players, but leaders and citizens as well.

This level will further develop more advanced hockey skills which will be transferred to games in a competitive level. The emphasis is on development of speed, strength, stamina and skill development in both individual and team tactics. 

All travel teams will play a full CHL season as well as exhibition games. Teams will play approximately 40 games per season and are guaranteed two out-of-state tournament opportunities.

Charlotte, NC
Wilmington, NC
Raleigh, NC

In addition to games, each team will have two 1.5 hour on ice practice sessions per week.

Teams will also conduct strength, conditioning, and film/chalk talk sessions weekly to prepare for upcoming games. It is our mission to have the most prepared and disciplined teams in the CHL.

*Tryouts are in May each year, but due to the transient nature of the military community in which we reside, we allow for players new to the community to be evaluated at later dates. Our goal is to remove barriers to playing hockey including if you are new to the community and have missed the traditional tryout windows for competitive hockey.
