CFYHA is excited to announce scholarship opportunities for the 2020-2021 hockey season. See below for important dates. These scholarship opportunities reflect all of the wonderful characteristics our players encompass, including academic/merit scholarships, leadership skills, and perseverance. The CFYHA scholarship committee will also be accepting applications for need based scholarships as well. We know hockey is an expensive sport, and like the crazy, unknown stressful times we are living now - we are truly all in it together!
Scholarship opportunities are open to all Cape Fear families.
Scholarship applications will need to be completed as one per player.
Scholarship funds awarded will be applied directly to the players CFYHA account to settle any outstanding balances. Surplus funds will be awarded by cheque.
One scholarship per player will be awarded.
Applications are linked with the CFYHA registration and can be completed at that time or can be completed by going to capefearhockey.com/parents/scholarships.
Specific criteria for individual scholarships are detailed in the scholarship description below.
Statements from each player and family will need to be provided, for the completion of the application, as detailed in the overview of each scholarship.
We would like to post a photo and profile of each recipient upon acceptance of the scholarship. Your photo upload on the application is considered your consent for photo release should your player be awarded a scholarship.
Applicants must be in good financial standing with CFYHA.
Although we would like these scholarships to be an annual occurrence, CFYHA is a non-profit organization. Funds are derived from grants, fundraisers and banking rewards. Therefore scholarships will be awarded annually as funds allow.
Applications will be accepted during CFYHA registration and end on November 1st, 2020.
Scholarships will be announced no later than November 15th with funds awarded within 1 week of the announcement.
Follow up letters from players who received scholarships, will be due by December 31st, 2020. (We would like to forward these letters to the Hurricanes Foundation who is our primary grant contributor to let them know how much their support means to us!)
