    Warrior Family,

I am honored to say:  Welcome to the 2020-2021 Cape Fear Hockey Season!  We are pleased to have you and your child(ren) participate in the "greatest game on ice" and to be part of 20 years plus of excellence in hockey here in the Fayetteville/Fort Bragg area.  Though we are starting in the most unique of circumstances, through perseverance, patience, and dedication, I can assure you this will be a great season for us all.

    • Our Mission: To be a hockey program that offers different levels of competition while simultaneously growing our program by sticking to the basics: improving hockey skills for all levels by playing in a safe, fun and competitive environment.

    • Our Foundation: We are a USA Hockey-sanctioned program, abiding by the best practices, rules, guidelines from USA Hockey, the Carolina Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA), and the Carolinas Hockey League (CHL).

Please take a moment to join me in thanking all the Cape Fear Youth Hockey Association (CFYHA) Staff whom, as a great team, have been planning out the season together as early as April.  It has (and continues to be) a trial by adversity as your Staff plans around and through all the obstacles that COVID-19 has put in our path.  In collaborating and working with the other hockey associations in CAHA and the CHL (North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia), we are confident that there is great amount of hockey to be played this season. I would like to also note that we could not do this without you: the committed players and families that have chosen to make the CFYHA your hockey home this season. As always, we encourage you to get involved in any way you can. If you have the time to volunteer & help make this season great for all involved, please contact Cheryl Canders at and let her know your interest(s) and availability.

There are a few items I would like to ensure everyone has as we begin:

    • Communication: In addition to any emails or texts you may receive through the season, please note our two locations online where information will be posted:

    • Base Access/Rink Location: For those new to visiting Fort Bragg and are not in the military, please refer to the Base Visitor Page link at  If you have any issues attaining a base pass, please send an email to and someone will get back to you shortly.

    • Scholarships & Financial Aid: For those that are interested in our scholarship opportunities, please refer to the following instructions listed at and take note of the October 1st deadline.

    • Off-Ice Activities:  Throughout the season, we will be looking to provide our players with additional (voluntary) opportunities to become not only better hockey players, but better students of the game as well.  Two activities that we would like to highlight at the beginning of the season include:

      • NHL Future Goals Hockey Scholar Program is a free, online interactive program that promotes Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education with the following topics:

        • Engineering behind equipment

        • Learning about area & volume calculations

        • Introduction to matter, mass, velocity, and kinetic energy

        • Introduction to data analysis and drawing conclusions

You can register your player (and any family member) at

Again, welcome to the 2020-2021 Cape Fear Hockey Season.  Stay healthy & safe, we look forward to seeing you soon.
